This is a short item: two journeys, sometimes three. But they are the only moments of the day when the two of you are alone. And the car shows up in photos you will keep, which makes it a less trivial choice than it looks.

How to choose your car

  1. 1Count the trips, not the hoursTown hall, ceremony, reception. Three short trips often cost less than a half day held.
  2. 2Check the dressA full dress and a two-seater sports car do not go together. Try it first.
  3. 3Plan the photo slotMany couples use the car as a backdrop. That means a twenty minute stop somewhere.
  4. 4Ask for the backup planA vintage car breaks down. Check there is a second car.
  5. 5Think about the witnessesA single car leaves everyone else to sort themselves out. Some rental firms offer a second vehicle.

  • Is the rate per journey or per hour?
  • What happens if the vehicle breaks down on the day itself?
  • Does the driver wait on site between journeys?
  • Is the car decorated, and by whom?
  • Is there enough room for a full skirted dress?
