This is the only item where the fitting matters more than the photo. An outfit is judged standing, sitting, walking, and after three hours. We sort the houses here by what they offer: some do made-to-measure, others alterations, others also dress the witnesses.

How to choose your outfit

1Start early, very earlyA made to measure dress often needs 6 to 9 months between the first fitting and the last alteration.
2Bring someone, but not a crowdTwo kind opinions are worth more than six. Beyond that, you end up choosing everyone else's dress.
3Try outside your fixed ideaAlmost everyone leaves with a cut they had not planned to try on. Let the shop assistant surprise you once.
4Price the alterations separatelyThey are rarely included, and often add 200 to 500 € on top.
5Think about the whole dayYou will sit, dance, be hugged tight. Try the outfit in those three positions before you say yes.

From 800 € for an off-the-peg dress to 4 000 € and more for made to measure. A suit sits between 500 € and 2 000 €.

Measured in the database on 16 August: 11 of the 13 boutiques show a starting price. It runs from €250 to €1 250, with half of them above €400. That is an entry price for a collection, alterations not included.
