The finest reception venues for your wedding in Belgium

Châteaux, restored barns, estates, glasshouses. Find the setting for your big day, and the rest will follow.

41 approved venues 6 venue types 7 provinces

Choosing your venue means laying the first stone. It is the place that will set the tone, the mood, the emotion of the whole day. In Belgium the choice is real: from classic châteaux to renovated farms, by way of lofts and gardens. We have gathered here the approved venues from the directory, sorted by type rather than by province, because that is how you look for a venue.

What sort of place do you picture?

Six families, and the number of venues actually available behind each one.

Or by province

Supply is not spread evenly across the provinces. That is why the province is a filter here, and not a page of its own.

How to choose your reception venue

  1. 1Define your moodCountry, industrial, classic, boho? Your venue should reflect who you are as a couple.
  2. 2Think logisticsCapacity, parking, accommodation on site, accessibility. The details make all the difference.
  3. 3Check the exclusivity clausesSome venues impose their own caterer or limit the hours. Ask the question at the first visit.
  4. 4Visit in the right seasonA venue that is beautiful in summer can look very different in winter. Visit in the season of your wedding.
  5. 5Negotiate the packageMany venues offer all inclusive packages. Compare the options before signing.

The five questions to ask on the visit

  • What is the maximum number of guests for a seated meal and for a standing cocktail?
  • Is there a caterer we have to use, or is the choice free?
  • Until what time can music be played?
  • Are rooms available on site, for you and for the guests?
  • What exactly does the rental price include: furniture, sound system, parking?

What it costs

From 1 500 € for a community hall to 15 000 € and more for a château booked exclusively for the weekend. The Belgian average sits between 3 000 € and 7 000 € for the rental alone.

These amounts are market benchmarks I wrote myself, not measurements. In the database, out of the 41 approved listings, only 7 have entered a starting price: not enough to work out a real average.

What's moving right now

  • ·Intimate micro-weddings, from 30 to 60 guests, in unusual venues.
  • ·Outdoor ceremonies with a covered plan B, still the number one request.
  • ·Eco friendly venues, with local sourcing.
  • ·Estates with rooms, for a whole weekend rather than one evening.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a wedding venue cost in Belgium?

Prices run from 1 500 € to more than 15 000 € depending on the type of venue, the season and the region. Figures from the site's editorial content, not recalculated from the database.

When should you book your venue?

Ideally 12 to 18 months ahead, especially from May to September. The most sought-after venues sometimes go 2 years in advance.

Yes. Many estates offer an outdoor ceremony with an indoor plan B if the weather turns.

Where do the venues shown here come from?

From the wewed directory. These are the venues whose listing is approved, with their real photos, their town and their type.

The other categories

Each one sorts its vendors by what really sets them apart.

The venue first, the rest after

It is the first decision, and the one that drives all the others. Once it is set, the checklist and the budget fill themselves in.
