Where to start without knowing the total, what you can remove, and what shifts when you change your mind.
Do you need the total amount before you start?
You set a total and the breakdown starts from there. If you gave a range when you signed up, the field arrives prefilled and you correct it, and the guided breakdown is generated from 5 000 € up.
Does the breakdown take the number of guests into account?
Yes, as soon as the number of guests is filled in in the assistant. Above 120 guests, the share for the caterer and the drinks goes up, and below 50 it goes down. What moves is taken from the decoration and the music, unless you have put them in your priorities.
We are not planning a wedding planner or flowers, can we remove those items?
Yes, every line switches off with one gesture in the assistant and its share is redistributed over the ones that remain. Only two cannot be switched off, and they are two different things: corkage, taxes and fees on one side, the contingency buffer on the other. You have to keep at least three lines in total.
Is a buffer for the unexpected included?
In the guided assistant, yes: it is added automatically and never drops below 6 % of the total, depending on the style you choose. If you fill in your budget by hand, there is no reserve, only a Miscellaneous category.
What happens if we change the total along the way?
It depends which way you go. “Redo the breakdown” restarts the assistant with the new total and recalculates every line in percentages. “Change the total” is more surgical: the difference goes into a single line, Miscellaneous or the contingency buffer, and the others keep their amount.
Can you export the budget from the app?
Yes, a PDF button outputs a document with each line, its planned amount, its spent amount, what is left, and the detail of all your expenses. There is no spreadsheet export yet.
